Kingston Childminding Association

Supporting and Representing Ofsted Registered Childminders in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames

Kingston Childminding Association

Kingston Childminding Association (KCMA) aims to provide useful and relevant information, guidance and support to Ofsted Registered Childminders, those wishing to become Childminders and parents using or seeking Childminders. We also aim to represent and support Ofsted Registered Childminders within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames (including Kingston, New Malden, Surbiton, Tolworth, Chessington and Worcester Park) in the promotion of Childminding as a high quality, flexible, professional choice of childcare.
KCMA provides advice, information and support for families considering using a childminder for the childcare choice.  From general information about how childminders work, to individual support for families when seeking a childminder and information about events where you can meet childminders with vacancies, KCMA can help towards finding the right childminder for families.

KCMA Membership is open to registered childminders, childminding assistants, those in the pre-registration process and parents of childminded children.  If you would like to become a member of KCMA, you can do so online or please contact KCMA by telephone or email.

Kingston Voluntary Action (KVA) works to create, support and amplify community action in Kingston upon Thames. We offer a comprehensive wrap-around service to charities and community groups of advice, guidance, training, networking and resource. We work closely with Kingston stakeholders, ensuring that the work of the VCS sector is best utilised to benefit those who live, work or study in Kingston. We want, and work towards, a Kingston where communities are active, strong and connected.

Kingston Voluntary Action, has a number of projects that work outside this key mission, which all have their own brand and voice. Currently these are Superhighways, Go Kingston Volunteering and the Kingston Eco-op.

In a stakeholder analysis in 2016, respondents remarked that they knew only some of KVA’s role and some services were seen as standing separately. The report highlighted that ‘this disjointed approach was not seen to work favourably’.

The addition as KVA seeks further commissioning. KVA, its associated projects and its impact must be clearly understood and demonstrated. The multiple brands and channels that KVA is working across can be utilised to support and strength each other.
